I’m a husband, a father, and a graphic designer from South Texas.
I came to Christ on December 24, 2004, at a time when addiction, brokenness, and a failing life had left me with nowhere else to turn. Jesus met me there and began a healing process that continues today.
We Pray You Heal exists because I know what it feels like to carry wounds in silence, and because I know healing is possible through Christ.
Before Christ, my life was falling apart. I was battling addiction, facing a court case, and watching my marriage hang by a thread. I was sick, lost, and running out of places to turn.
I wasn’t raised in church. Faith wasn’t part of my life. Then on December 24, 2004, everything changed. Jesus met me where I was and began a healing process that continues to this day. God’s grace proved bigger than the mess I had made.
Years later, a phrase stopped me in my tracks: “I pray you heal from the things you don’t talk about.” Soon after, the words for this book began pouring out. What started as a simple phrase became a message of hope, healing, and restoration for people carrying wounds they rarely speak about.
I’m just Joe. Nothing more. Nothing less. A husband, a father, and a man whose story was changed by Christ. And if He can do it for me, He can do it for you.

We Pray You Heal exists because too many people suffer in silence. For years, I carried wounds I didn’t know how to talk about. Since then, I’ve met countless others carrying the same burdens, addiction, shame, grief, broken relationships, church hurt, fear, and struggles they feel forced to face alone. This ministry was created to change that.
Through books, prayer, small groups, resources, and honest conversations, our goal is to help people bring hidden wounds into the light and discover the healing, freedom, and restoration found in Jesus Christ. What began as a message has become a mission: creating places where people can stop pretending they’re okay and start taking steps toward healing.
We Pray You Heal is an independent Christian ministry founded by Joe Lucio and operated on a volunteer basis.
